Founder & CEO
In 2009, just when the world had recovered from the 2008 recession, Lafili realised that for humanity to truly learn from their mistakes, the concept of doing business had to change. Profit should not just apply to the 0.01 percent, but should be divided equally. He started to ask himself who truly benefited from the way business was being done. In response to the rising tide of greed, as well as new challenges that arise in a rapidly changing world, Lafili started Siga.
For the past decade, Siga, and Lafili specifically, has worked tirelessly to realise this vision of a better world and a healthier, more sustainable economy. His passion and determination to help the transition into a better economy gives him an unfaltering drive to press on. This drive has allowed him to consult in nearly every field of economics. Sector leaders, cities and non-government organisations have welcomed him as a consultant to help them improve their economies in a sustainable and circular way. Lafili believes this transition shouldn’t be just about doing business and making money, but about people, and a world where everyone prospers. His knowledge of sustainability, economics and people management stems from his Master’s in Business Economics, his Master’s in Industrial Environmental Management and his bachelor in Master Coaching.
Today, instead of just consulting, Lafili has put his considerable resources into creating an educational programme which he offers to business schools and universities. Instead of tackling the problem at the front lines, Lafili’s programme has students focusing on three questions: Where do they anticipate change, how well can they create diverse, new relationships and are they brave enough to let go of the past. By having them face these questions, Lafili hopes to create young professionals who enter the world economy with vision, ethical leadership and a circular way of doing business. Educational institutions from all over the world have participated in his programme, which some have called “life-altering, inspiring and visionary.”
